---

Bösch is an Austrian manufacturer of heating, cooling, ventilation and building automation. What looks like a website from the outside is actually a multi-layer platform: the public product catalog with thousands of items (heat pumps, chillers, ventilation units, system controls), a print-catalog system that outputs the same data in magazine-grade PDF quality, the _myboesch_ B2B portal for trade partners, several online portals for the connected heating-system control (MOZART, KLIMT, INX, QLX-R, biomass), a 24/7 customer-service system with callback and service booking, plus the connection to an ERP for parts and inventory. All on a Pimcore base.

For the relaunch, the whole system was moved from Pimcore 5 to Pimcore 11. The core of my work was migrating the PDF print-catalog system: dozens of catalogs for heating and hot-water components had previously been rendered in print quality via [PDFreactor](https://www.pdfreactor.com/) through Smarty templates. They had to be structurally moved onto the new Twig-based stack of the Pimcore 11 world — including the many catalog pages tied into them.

The migration ran across several months because the actual scope was significantly larger than initially expected. Toward the end, I onboarded a colleague who took over the remaining work.
